FOUNDER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Covadonga
Rodriguez
Quintana

Covadonga Rodríguez Quintana is the soul of CLO, whose vision Inspiring recognizes that a brand's greatest asset is the people who put their talent and enthusiasm to work together, who connect their emotions with the holistic goal of creating pieces that contribute to making the people who enjoy them feel good inside and out.

Covadonga, Galician by birth, graduated in Law in Madrid and specialized in International Law in Leuven, which led her to live in Brussels, and later in London and Buenos Aires. It was her innate curiosity that led her to discover artists and their galleries, chefs and their restaurants, artisans and their workshops, designers and their studios, writers and academies. It was in this way, surrounded by masters and knowledge, that she would find her greatest motivation: the desire to explore the process behind each created object, from a printed silk to the impeccable folds of a jacket, behind a strip of intertwined lace...

"The more you discover, the more you realize the infinite possibilities of learning," she once said, and so, with the desire to create, she continues to train in different disciplines: interior design, fashion, and also, back in Madrid, at ISEM, addressing fashion business management.

But if there's one thing that sets CLO apart, and what becomes the seed of it, it's the way Cova marvels at artisanal creations that require so much knowledge of tradition and so much full attention in their making. This opportunity to explore and help highlight the importance these handcrafted pieces deserve becomes almost an obsession and, therefore, the center of her own creations.

Looking at masters such as Cristóbal Balenciaga, Gabrielle Chanel, Christian Dior who had already done it in their own places, and with this concept as inspiration, Covadonga decided to create CLO in 2014 combining the traditional arts and crafts of her country, Spain, with a style that she defines as sophisticated but very easy to wear, adding the importance of guaranteeing sustainability for the materials used and manufacturing processes and ethics when it comes to greatly valuing each person involved in the chain: from the gardener who plants seeds for fibers, the printer, the lacemaker, the tanner, the pattern maker, the graphic designer etc ... to the end customer who, in addition to being excited by how favored they feel with a garment, deserves to know what they are buying and thus feel, already with that knowledge, much more satisfied by their accurate acquisition aligned with the essential values of the CLO Emotional Design firm.
